Shareef Elaydi's HUGE Swim! #6 All-Time in 200 IM at Winter Junior Championships (2026)

In a thrilling display of talent and determination, Shareef Elaydi has surged up the all-time rankings in the 15-16 boys' 200 IM, clocking an impressive 1:43.82! This performance cements his position as the 6th fastest swimmer in history for this age group, a remarkable achievement.

But here's where it gets exciting: At the 2025 Winter Junior Championships - West, Elaydi not only improved his own personal best but also climbed six spots in the all-time rankings. His previous best of 1:44.79, set at the same meet a year ago, had him at #12 all-time. But now, he's in elite company.

The race itself was a battle royale. Ty Thomas and Jackson Hartzler, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively, also made significant moves up the all-time rankings. Thomas, who entered the competition outside the top 100, and Hartzler, previously ranked #73, both swam their way into the history books. Thomas led after the fly and backstroke legs, with Hartzler in hot pursuit. But Elaydi's powerful breaststroke leg saw him surge ahead, while Hartzler overtook Thomas with 50 meters to go. In a thrilling finish, Thomas regained his composure to touch second, just ahead of Hartzler.

The All-Time Top 10:

  1. Thomas Heilman (1:41.41, 2023)
  2. Maximus Williamson (1:42.07, 2022)
  3. Michael Andrew (1:42.77, 2015)
  4. Luca Urlando (1:42.99, 2018)
  5. Carson Foster (1:43.79, 2017)
  6. Shareef Elaydi (1:43.82, 2025)
  7. Reece Whitley (1:43.93, 2016)
  8. Andrew Seliskar (1:44.03, 2013)
  9. Baylor Stanton (1:44.04, 2023)
  10. Ty Thomas (1:44.21, 2025)

This meet was a testament to the rising talent in the swimming world, with young athletes pushing boundaries and challenging records. But the question remains, who will be the next to make a splash and shake up these rankings? Will we see a new name at the top soon? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
