Tragically, the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City has reported the arrival of 13 bodies, among them five young children, who perished when their homes and tents in the eastern Zeitoun and Tuffah neighborhoods were struck. Meanwhile, Nasser hospital in Khan Younis confirmed four fatalities, including one child, from strikes targeting tents in the southern Qizan Rashwan area.
This grim toll comes as both Israel and Hamas continue to trade accusations of near-daily breaches of the ceasefire that commenced on October 10th. The conflict, ignited by the Hamas-led assault on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and the taking of 251 hostages, has seen a devastating response from Israel's military campaign in Gaza.
According to Gaza's health ministry, the ongoing conflict has led to the deaths of over 71,800 people. Conversely, the Israeli military states that four of its soldiers have been killed by Palestinian attacks.
