The Ellembelle District Assembly is gearing up for a crucial public hearing on its Medium-Term Development Plan Budget, a four-year strategic roadmap from 2026 to 2029 aimed at propelling the district's growth. This hearing presents a unique opportunity for stakeholders to contribute valuable insights into developmental initiatives benefiting both communities and institutions within the district. The Assembly's ambitious plan necessitates a substantial allocation of GHc453,020 million for its successful execution. The District Planning Officer, Mr. Theophilus Tamatey-Agbo, outlined a comprehensive roadmap with 137 activities planned for 2026, gradually scaling down to 101 projects in 2028 and 121 projects in 2029. Mr. Tamatey-Agbo emphasized a strategic approach, prioritizing the completion of existing projects initiated by the previous government before embarking on new endeavors under the current administration. This meticulous planning is underpinned by feasibility studies conducted to determine the specific needs and projects suited to each town within the district. The Medium-Term Development Plan encompasses a diverse range of sectors, including development and livelihood empowerment, water and sanitation infrastructure, educational services and infrastructure, health services and infrastructure, sanitation improvement, environmental sustainability, road maintenance, electrification expansion, lighting and security, telecommunication improvement, and governance and administration. The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Mr. Joseph Armah Agyekum, expressed confidence that at least 80% of the projects would be realized by the end of the four-year period. Furthermore, Mr. Agyekum highlighted the Assembly's ongoing efforts to forge strategic partnerships with local companies, leveraging their Corporate Social Responsibility to facilitate project execution and skills development training. Mr. Awumbilla Salifu from the Public Affairs Department at ADAMUS Resources Limited echoed this sentiment, advocating for robust partnerships with Ellembelle companies to ensure the successful implementation of projects and programs aligned with the district's needs.
